Kashmir - A Paradise Lost (30 min.)
With its majestic mountains, beautiful lakes and valleys, Kaschmir was once a paradise for tourists. Since the conflict with India, tourism, which was for many years a main source of income for the people in this region, has radically diminished. Surviving without the visitors is making things increasingly more difficult for them. The people in Kaschmir have always lived from their landscape and the traditional crafts they produce. Paschminas made of cashmere wool and silk are the region's most well-known products. Filmmaker, Ghafoor Zamani, accompanies a local trader travelling around his country, between beautiful snow-capped mountains and into fascinating cities - a trader trying to go about his daily business as well as he can, despite the war.
